Government Showcase Zone - FASS

The Government Showcase Zone brought Government departments and agencies together into a single forum. Participating organisations included DASA, Dstl, Border Force, NPCC, KTN and FASS. Together they were showcasing a diverse range of projects and programme.

Future Aviation Security Solutions (FASS) team was established in 2016 by Department for Transport (DfT) and Home Office to drive innovation in aviation security that would match the evolution of the terrorist threat and support industry and academia in delivering security solutions to end users. To achieve this, the FASS programme invests in the development and exploitation of technology, capabilities, and knowledge that will deliver a step-change in aviation security and an improvement to the customer experience.

Stage Gate 11 was hosted at the FASS stand among several other suppliers who have received government funding to develop their novel aviation security solutions. All three days our colleagues from Stage Gate 11 were present to engage with the industry: Regarding the recent trial at London Luton Airport in staff security operations, further development and testing, and the live set-up at the Immersive Feature.

Immersive Feature by JSaRC

“Plan. Travel. Visit. – Your future secure journey.” is the slogan given to the Immersive Feature hosting six different solutions by the Joint Security and Resilience Centre. All solutions demonstrate ways in which the (pre-)journey process could be easier and more efficient by reducing or streamlining perceptible touch points.

The Delta R Shoe Scanner was included in the Aviation and Travel Security Section with a live demo-setup. All visitors of the experience were guided past the shoe scanner and had the chance to experience the convenience and speed at which the Delta R Shoe Scanner screens passengers.
